Minneapolis erases deficit to stun St.Louis Park, 5-4

The Minneapolis Novas climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat the St.Louis Park Orioles, 5-4.

Minneapolis let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. The Novas took a 1-0 advantage on a power play goal by Henry Christman at 1:17 in the first period. Minneapolis found itself down 4-2 after St.Louis Park's JACOB LUKASAVAGE put the puck home at 16:11 in the second period. After tying things up at 4-4 on a goal by Joe Guimont at 3:17 in the third, the Novas got the game-winner from Tony Pnewski at 16:08 in the third period.

Minneapolis got the win with help from a great game by Christman, who had two goals and one assist.

The Novas put 45 shots on net during the contest, more than the 1.1 they average per game.

Ross Nesbit also scored for Minneapolis. In addition, Minneapolis received assists from Cris Grassel, who had two and Peter Hacker, Jimmy Roth, Josh Huisken, and Grant Miller, who contributed one a piece.

By firing 26 shots on goal, the Orioles exceeded the 0.9 shots they average per game this year. St.Louis Park could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Orioles were helped by JAKE BAER, who finished with one goal and one assist. BAER scored 15:52 into the second period to make the score 3-2 St.Louis Park. St.Louis Park also got points from MILES MULARKY, who also registered one goal and one assist. St.Louis Park also got a goal from NICK OWENS as well. More assists for St.Louis Park came via NICK HAMES, who had one.

Minneapolis' TJ Moseley stopped 22 shots out of the 26 that he faced. The Novas incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. RYAN FROOM made 40 saves for St.Louis Park on 45 shots. The Orioles registered zero goals on one power play opportunities. St.Louis Park ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and BAER was ejected from the game.
