Spring Lake Park uses early goal to top St.Louis Park, 2-1

Jacob Nystrom gave the Spring Lake Park Panthers the lead in the first period, and the St.Louis Park Orioles was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 2-1.

Nystrom provided Spring Lake Park with the game-winning tally when he scored 15:35 into the the first period. The Panthers were on a disadvantage when Zach Crawford went off the ice for interference. Brandon Richard picked up the assist.

Spring Lake Park's Aaron Furlano was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 29 saves and let only one puck past him. Furlano managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.35 prior to the game.

The Panthers were led by Austen Long, who grabbed one goal. Long scored 3:28 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Spring Lake Park. David Taylor assisted on the tally.

More assists for Spring Lake Park came via Nick Heid and Noah Bormann, who each chipped in one.

St.Louis Park put 30 shots on net during the contest, more than the 1.2 it averages per game.

The Orioles were led by Jesper Junkkaala, who scored the team's only goal. Junkkaala scored on the power play 6:55 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Spring Lake Park. St.Louis Park had gotten the advantage when Spring Lake Park's Heid was sent off for roughing. FRANK JERMUSEK picked up the assist.

The Panthers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. RYAN FROOM recorded 25 saves for the Orioles. St.Louis Park incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
