Robbinsdale Cooper falls to St.Louis Park in overtime, 6-5 (OT)St. Louis Park East Thu, Jan 24, 2013 NICK OWENS gave the St.Louis Park Orioles a 6-5 (OT) victory over the Robbinsdale Cooper Hawks when he scored 1:03 into the extra period. St.Louis Park almost relinquished a five-score lead. The Orioles made it 5-0 on a goal by JACOB LUKASAVAGE at 1:40 in the second period. Robbinsdale Cooper got to within 5-4 on a goal by Nick Larson at 16:01 in the third period. By firing 30 shots on goal, St.Louis Park exceeded the 1.2 shot it averages per game this year. The Orioles found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. St.Louis Park has scored at the pace of 2.2 goals per game during the current campaign. The Orioles were led by MILES MULARKY, who had one goal and three assists. MULARKY scored on the power play 13:40 into the first period to make the score 4-0 St.Louis Park. St.Louis Park had gotten the advantage when the Hawks' Alex Stager was sent off for hooking. DANNY MURRAY provided the assist. St.Louis Park also got a goal from CURT GREENBUSH as well. Other players who recorded assists for St.Louis Park were T.J. HALLFIN and CHARLIE HILLS, who contributed one a piece. Robbinsdale Cooper could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 14 minutes in penalties during the game. The Hawks were led by Trey Rooney, who racked up two goals and one assist. Rooney scored the first of his two goals at 8:49 into the second period to make the score 5-1 St.Louis Park. Dylan Erickson picked up the assist. The Orioles totaled 35 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-6 on the power play. The Hawks' Angel Hillstrom stopped 24 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Robbinsdale Cooper registered two goals on five power play opportunities.
