Totino-Grace completes comeback, beats Chisago Lakes Area, 5-4Brooklyn Park - 1 Thu, Jan 17, 2013 Undaunted by a two-goal deficit, the Totino-Grace Eagles battled back to claim a 5-4 victory over the Chisago Lakes Area Wildcats. Totino-Grace let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. The Eagles took a 2-1 advantage on a goal by TJ Roo at 11:31 in the first period. Totino-Grace went down 4-2 after Chisago Lakes Area's Zachary Lambrecht put the puck home at 2:02 in the third period. After knotting things up at 4-4 on a goal by Kai Barber at 8:00 in the third, the Eagles got the game-winner from Derek Lodermeier at 9:10 in the third period. With three goals and two assists between them, Lodermeier and Barber teamed up to power Totino-Grace's offense. Lodermeier had one goal and two assists and Barber also added two goals. The Eagles put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Wildcats to score on any of their four power plays. Chisago Lakes Area was unable to stop Totino-Grace from sending pucks towards the net, and the Eagles eventually piled up 52 shots on goal. Totino-Grace also got points from Carter Roo, who also tallied one goal and two assists and Roo, who also racked up one goal and two assists. In addition, Totino-Grace received assists from Blake Vagle, who had one and Ben Henderson, who had two. The Wildcats were often in penalty trouble, totaling eight minors and one major for 31 minutes in penalty time. Chisago Lakes Area had been averaging 11.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Wildcats' normally stingy defense allowed more goals than usual. Chisago Lakes Area gives up 2.5 goals per game. The Wildcats were led by Trevor Lushanko, who registered two goals and one assist. Lushanko scored the first of his two goals at 2:19 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Chisago Lakes Area. Jacob Breyfogle provided the assist. Lushanko's next tally made the score 2-2 with 6:13 left in the second period. Brandon Gillespie assisted on the tally. Chisago Lakes Area also got a goal from Bradee Thompson as well. Other players who recorded assists for Chisago Lakes Area were Blake Lizotte and Jacob Speight, who each chipped in one. Rory Davidowski rejected 24 shots on goal for Totino-Grace. The Eagles incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Jacob Dubose made 47 saves for Chisago Lakes Area on 52 shots.
