Irondale survives St.Louis Park comeback, wins 2-1

The Irondale Knights survived a determined comeback attempt by the St.Louis Park Orioles on the way to a 2-1 win.

Irondale made the score 2-0 on a goal by Alex LaPorte at 14:07 in the first period, and St.Louis Park got as close as 2-1 when CHARLIE HILLS scored 1:42 into the third period.

LaPorte was all over the ice for the Knights, as he tallied two goals in the win.

Irondale was often in penalty trouble, totaling seven minors and one major for 19 minutes in penalty time. The Knights surpassed its season average of 12.0 penalty minutes per game.

Other players who recorded assists for Irondale were William White and Jack Tuomie, who each chipped in one.

With 28 shots on target during the contest, the Orioles exceeded the 1.7 shot they average per game this year. St.Louis Park found itself short handed often, totaling 14 penalty minutes and allowing five power plays.

In addition, St.Louis Park received assists from MILES MULARKY, who had one.

Esko Aukee recorded 27 saves for Irondale. RYAN FROOM made 16 saves for the Orioles on 18 shots. St.Louis Park registered one goal on six power play opportunities.
