Rogers beats St. Francis 7-1 as Cecil gets hat trick

The St. Francis Saints could not stop the Rogers Royals' Branden Cecil, who tallied a hat trick in a 7-1 win.

Cecil got on the scoresheet 3:26 into the first period. He then added goals at 11:44 into the second and at 15:30 into the second.

Rogers was led by goalie Blake Ternus, who finished with 29 saves while allowing one goal. Ternus certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 5.81 entering the contest.

The Royals outdid their season average for goals scored. Rogers averages 3.6 goals per game.

Rogers additionally got points from Alexander Lorman, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Travis Brown also scored for Rogers. Other players who recorded assists for Rogers were Spencer Marchand, who had two, Brandon Spah, who had three, and Jason Roberge, Jake Good, and Blake Timm, who each chipped in one.

St. Francis' offense operated below it season average. The Saints put an average of 3.9 pucks into the net per game.

St. Francis was led by Brett Aldrich, who scored the team's only goal. Aldrich scored 8:14 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Rogers. Zach Foesch picked up the assist.

The Royals incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Darion Hanson made 21 saves for the Saints on 28 shots. St. Francis incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
