Huge game by Roo boosts Totino-Grace over Marshall School Duluth, 6-1

The Marshall School Duluth Hilltoppers had trouble finding ways to stop the Totino-Grace Eagles, which beat Hilltoppers, 6-1.

Totino-Grace forced Marshall School Duluth goalie Caden Flaherty to work between the pipes, taking 61 shots.

The Eagles were led by TJ Roo, who registered two goals and one assist. Roo scored the first of his two goals at 12:23 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Totino-Grace. Roo's next tally made the score 5-1 Totino-Grace with 16:16 left in the third period. Totino-Grace had gained a power play chance when Kyle McKinzie was whistled for high sticking. Carter Roo picked up the assist. Totino-Grace additionally got points from Roo, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Kai Barber, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Derek Lodermeier, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Totino-Grace also got a goal from Connor Schmidt as well. More assists for Totino-Grace came via Marco Lucarelli, Jason Krych, and Blake Vagle, who contributed one a piece.

The Hilltoppers' defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. Marshall School Duluth gives up 2.4 goals per game.

The Hilltoppers were led by Luke Pavelich, who scored the team's only goal. Pavelich scored on the power play 11:32 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Totino-Grace. An elbowing penalty on Lucarelli had put Marshall School Duluth on the power play. Nate Johnson provided the assist.

The Eagles' Michael Larson stopped 24 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Totino-Grace incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Caden Flaherty made 55 saves for the Hilltoppers on 61 shots. Marshall School Duluth incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
