Wedin nets hat trick, leads Mora/Hinkley-Finlayson to 8-2 win over North Branch

Hunter Wedin netted a hat trick to lead the Mora/Hinkley-Finlayson Mustangs over the North Branch Vikings, 8-2.

Wedin got on the scoresheet 9:41 into the first period. He then added goals at 13:43 into the first and at 3:33 into the third.

Mora/Hinkley-Finlayson's offense rang up 36 shots on North Branch's net. The defensemen of the Mustangs were also effective in the Vikings' zone, and came away with four goals.

Mora/Hinkley-Finlayson also got points from Connor Cannon, who also grabbed one goal and three assists, Dylan Libra, who also tallied one goal and two assists, and Derek Graves, who also racked up three goals and two assists. Other players who recorded assists for Mora/Hinkley-Finlayson were Christian Leeb, who had one and Thomas Pasillas and Troy Jones, who each chipped in two.

North Branch was helped by Connor Martineau, who finished with one goal. Martineau scored on the power play 7:18 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Mora/Hinkley-Finlayson. The Vikings had gotten the advantage when Mora/Hinkley-Finlayson's Tyler Larson was sent off for interference. Tyler cashill picked up the assist. North Branch also got a goal from Ryan Zentner as well. In addition, North Branch received assists from Alex Miller, who had two.

Tanner Baxley recorded 15 saves for the Mustangs. Mora/Hinkley-Finlayson incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. North Branch's Donovan Stefan stopped 28 shots out of the 36 that he faced. The Vikings totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play.
