Tuomie's big game bests Robbinsdale Cooper in 6-2 Irondale win

Behind a great game by Jack Tuomie, who had one goal and three assists, the Irondale Knights defeated the Robbinsdale Cooper Hawks, 6-2.

Tuomie got on the board by slotting home a goal 2:23 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Irondale. Alex Fredbergq picked up the assist. Tuomie dished an assist on Fredbergq's goal that made the score 2-0 Irondale at 7:18 into the first period. He then added assists on Kyle O Connor's goal at 11:00 into the first and on Mike Hanker's goal at 1:11 into the second.

Irondale forced Robbinsdale Cooper goalie Keegan Husom to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots. The Knights' goal total was higher than their season average. This season, Irondale averages 2.4 goals per contest. The Knights struggled on the penalty kill, allowing the Hawks to score two power play goals on three chances. Irondale got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Irondale also got points from Logan Johnson, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Kilen Eilefson, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Fredbergq, who also grabbed one goal and one assist.

Robbinsdale Cooper stifled the Knights' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Esko Aukee recorded 21 saves for Irondale. The Knights incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Husom rejected 37 shots on goal for the Hawks. Robbinsdale Cooper ended with 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major.
