Junkkaala lifts St.Louis Park over Minnehaha Academy, 3-1St. Louis Park East Mon, Dec 17, 2012 The St.Louis Park Orioles relied on the scoring touch of Jesper Junkkaala, who netted two goals, to beat the Minnehaha Academy Red Hawks, 3-1. Junkkaala found the back of the net 8:38 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while 13:02 into the second to make the score 2-1 St.Louis Park.St.Louis Park put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Minnehaha Academy to score on any of its three power plays. With 30 shots on target during the contest, the Orioles exceeded the 4.4 shots they average per game this year. St.Louis Park also got a goal from JACOB LUKASAVAGE as well. Other players who recorded assists for St.Louis Park were T.J. HALLFIN, MITCHELL HICKERSON, MILES MULARKY, CARLOS SIGUENZA, and FRANK JERMUSEK, who contributed one a piece. The Red Hawks' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three St.Louis Park power plays. Minnehaha Academy's offense operated below it season average. The Red Hawks put an average of 4.0 pucks into the net per game. Minnehaha Academy was led by Ryan Evenson, who scored the team's only goal. Evenson scored 7:30 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Minnehaha Academy. Nick Terlizzi provided the assist. St.Louis Park's ERIC SPEICHER stopped 24 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Orioles incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Alex Katz made 27 saves for the Red Hawks on 30 shots. Minnehaha Academy ended with 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major.
