Chisago Lakes Area rips Cambridge/Isanti, 8-2

The Cambridge/Isanti Bluejackets had trouble finding ways to stop the Chisago Lakes Area Wildcats, which beat Bluejackets, 8-2.

Jacob Breyfogle had a great game for Chisago Lakes Area, netting two goals. Breyfogle found the back of the net 6:31 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Chisago Lakes Area and again while 5:59 into the third to make the score 6-2 Chisago Lakes Area.

The Wildcats put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Cambridge/Isanti to score on any of its five power plays. Chisago Lakes Area bested its season scoring average. The Wildcats have scored at the pace of 4.0 goals per game during the current campaign. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Chisago Lakes Area also got points from Brandon Gillespie, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Louis Kastenbauer also scored for Chisago Lakes Area. In addition, Chisago Lakes Area received assists from Zachary Lambrecht, who had one and Trevor Lushanko and Blake Lizotte, who each chipped in two.

The Bluejackets' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Chisago Lakes Area power plays.

Cambridge/Isanti was helped by Veeti Uuttera, who finished with one goal. Uuttera scored 50 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cambridge/Isanti. Collin Anderson provided the assist. Cambridge/Isanti also got a goal from Mike Nolt as well. More assists for Cambridge/Isanti came via Elliott Simon and Jacob Sylvester, who contributed one a piece.

Jacob Dubose recorded 28 saves for Chisago Lakes Area. The Wildcats incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Bluejackets' Frank Maslow stopped 18 shots out of the 26 that he faced. Cambridge/Isanti incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
