Lodermeier leads Totino-Grace over Irondale, 4-1

The Totino-Grace Eagles' Derek Lodermeier had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 4-1 win over the Irondale Knights.

Lodermeier's tallies came short handed at 14:51 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Totino-Grace and 6:55 into the second to make the score 3-1 Totino-Grace.

Totino-Grace racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with six minors and one major for 17 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 15.0 minutes per game the Eagles had been spending in the box. Totino-Grace forced Irondale goalie Esko Aukee to work between the pipes, taking 50 shots.

Totino-Grace additionally got points from Carter Roo, who also finished with one goal and one assist and TJ Roo, who also registered one goal and three assists.

The Knights were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 16 penalty minutes.

Irondale was led by Jack Tuomie, who scored the team's only goal. Tuomie scored on the power play 9:11 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Knights had taken the advantage when the Eagles' Lodermeier got sent off for high sticking. Barrett Reif provided the assist.

Rory Davidowski rejected 19 shots on goal for Totino-Grace. The Eagles registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Aukee recorded 46 saves for Irondale. The Knights registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
