St. Francis holds on for 6-4 win against PrincetonEast Bethel Ice Arena Tue, Dec 04, 2012 The St. Francis Saints survived a determined comeback attempt by the Princeton Tigers on the way to a 6-4 win. St. Francis took a 6-3 lead during the third period, only to have Princeton storm back on a Daniel Voce goal 11:48 into the third period to pull to two goals down. With three goals and four assists between them, Ryan Mohar and Zach Foesch teamed up to power the Saints' offense. Mohar registered two goals and one assist and Foesch also notched one goal and three assists. St. Francis kept the Tigers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Max Mattson made 29 saves on 35 shots. The Saints took advantage of Princeton's penalties, tallying two goals off of three power play opportunities. St. Francis could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 20 minutes in penalties during the game. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. St. Francis also got points from Foesch, who also tallied one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Brett Aldrich also scored for St. Francis. Other players who recorded assists for St. Francis were Ben Falk, who had two and Tate Blankenship, Jimmy Mayer, and Cameron Kaehler, who each chipped in one. The Tigers were held below their usual level of production. Princeton averages 6.8 goals per game. The Saints were unable to stop the Tigers from sending pucks towards the net, and Princeton eventually piled up 44 shots on goal. Princeton also got a goal from Cam Paulson as well. More assists for Princeton came via Dan Muench, who had two, Collin Buness, who had three, and Jake Green and Chase Lindenfelser, who contributed one a piece. Darion Hanson recorded 40 saves for St. Francis. The Tigers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
