Moore's big game bests Moorhead in 6-1 Benilde St. Margarets winMoorhead Sports Center Sat, Dec 01, 2012 T.J. Moore was all over the ice for the Benilde St. Margarets Red Knights, as he tallied two goals and two assists in Benilde St. Margarets' 6-1 win over the Moorhead Spuds. Moore found the back of the net 54 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Benilde St. Margarets and again while on the power play 7:16 into the first to make the score 2-0 Benilde St. Margarets.The Red Knights were led by goalie Andrew Sprang, who finished with 25 saves while allowing one goal. Despite the solid performance, Sprang will actually see his goals against average rise, as it stood at 1.18 entering the contest. Moorhead was unable to stop Benilde St. Margarets from sending pucks towards the net, and the Red Knights eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. Benilde St. Margarets could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game. Benilde St. Margarets also got points from Spencer Naas, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Grant Besse, who also had two goals and two assists. Alec Baer also scored for Benilde St. Margarets. More assists for Benilde St. Margarets came via Nate Labosky, who had two and Chris Hickok and Zack Hale, who each chipped in one. The Spuds were held below their usual level of production. Moorhead puts an average of 4.5 pucks into the net per game. The Spuds could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 14 minutes in penalties during the game. The Red Knights registered two goals on five power play opportunities. Peter MacFarlane made 28 saves for Moorhead on 34 shots. The Spuds registered one goal on seven power play opportunities.
