The Irondale Knights gutted out a close 4-3 win against the Waconia Wildcats.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Logan Johnson secured the win for Irondale with a goal in the third period.

Kilen Eilefson had two goals and one assist to lead the Knights. Eilefson scored the first of his two goals at 11:15 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Irondale. Eilefson's next tally made the score 3-2 Irondale with 15:24 left in the third period. J.P. Stickney assisted on the tally.

Irondale forced Waconia goalie Nathan Kovach to work between the pipes, taking 48 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Irondale additionally got points from Alex Fredbergq, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Irondale were Tony Bridgeman and Kyle O Connor, who contributed one a piece.

The Wildcats were led by Alex Fortwengler, who registered one goal and one assist. Fortwengler scored 15:39 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Blaine Wilsey picked up the assist. Waconia also got points from Wilsey, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Waconia also got a goal from Ryan Mattson as well. More assists for Waconia came via Ben Kullman, Jeff Balow, and Justin Reinke, who each chipped in one.

Esko Aukee made 18 saves for the Knights on 21 shots. Irondale incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Kovach recorded 44 saves for Waconia. The Wildcats incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
