Minnetonka falls to Blaine in overtime, 3-2 (OT)State Fair Col Sat, Feb 16, 2013 Dallas Gerads gave the Blaine Bengals a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Minnetonka Skippers when he scored 1:35 into the extra period. Gerads was all over the ice for Blaine, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Gerads scored the first of his two goals at 3:43 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Jesse Norling assisted on the tally. Gerads' next tally made the score 3-2 Blaine with 18:25 left in overtime. The Bengals' offense operated below they season average. Blaine averages 5.1 goals per game. By firing 30 shots on goal, the Bengals exceeded the 1.3 shot they average per game this year. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Blaine also got a goal from Tyler Cline as well. Other players who recorded assists for Blaine were Joey Lau, who had one. Minnetonka was held below its usual level of production. The Skippers put an average of 4.2 pucks into the net per game. With 33 shots on target during the contest, Minnetonka exceeded the 5.9 shots it averages per game this year. The Skippers were helped by Jack Ramsey, who racked up one goal. Ramsey scored 2:54 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Minnetonka. Joe Lindberg provided the assist. Max Coatta also scored for Minnetonka. Bailey Ketola rejected 31 shots on goal for Blaine. The Bengals incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Paul Ciaccio recorded 27 saves for Minnetonka. The Skippers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. |
