Lau leads Blaine over Andover, 5-2

Behind a great game by Joey Lau, who had one goal and two assists, the Blaine Bengals defeated the Andover Huskies, 5-2.

Lau got on the board by slotting home a goal 1:40 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Blaine. Lau dished an assist on Dallas Gerads's goal that made the score 4-1 Blaine at 15:31 into the second period. He added another helper on Jesse Norling's goal that made the score 5-2 Blaine at 14:46 into the third period.

Blaine stifled Andover's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The 50 shots that the Bengals put on net surpassed Blaine's average of 1.4 shot per game this season.

Easton Brodzinski also scored for Blaine. More assists for Blaine came via Nic Simpson, Alex Copa, and Ian Scheid, who each chipped in one.

The Huskies' offense was clicking better than usual and put 18 shots on goal during the game, better than the 1.8 shot per game they average.

Andover was helped by Tyler Tomberlin, who registered one goal. Tomberlin scored 7:49 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Blaine. Nick Maney assisted on the tally. Andover also got a goal from Jared McComber as well. Other players who recorded assists for Andover were Christian Mohs and Zach Sitarz, who contributed one a piece.

The Bengals' Bailey Ketola stopped 16 shots out of the 18 that he faced. Blaine incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Chase Perry rejected 45 shots on goal for the Huskies. Andover incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
