Valerius nets hat trick, leads Maple Grove to 7-1 win over Osseo

Sam Valerius netted a hat trick to lead the Maple Grove Crimson over the Osseo Orioles, 7-1.

Valerius' first goal came seven seconds into the third period. He then added goals at 6:02 into the third and at 8:51 into the third.

Maple Grove found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Crimson average 3.3 goals per game. Maple Grove capitalized on Osseo's penalties, netting three goals while skating with a man advantage. The Crimson put 48 shots on net during the contest, more than the 2.7 they average per game.

Maple Grove also got points from Joe Franta, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Maple Grove also had goals scored by Joe Norenberg, who had one and Nate Erickson, who had two. More assists for Maple Grove came via Charlie Thomsen, who had one and Josh Passolt, who had two.

John Danielson recorded 21 saves for Maple Grove. The Crimson incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Orioles' Connor Dahlberg stopped 41 shots out of the 48 that he faced. Osseo incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
