The Irondale Knights and the Robbinsdale Armstrong Falcons skate to 1-1 (OT) tieSchwan SR-5 Tue, Feb 05, 2013 Irondale found itself down againt Robbinsdale Armstrong, but battled back to secure to a 1-1 (OT) tie. The Knights excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Irondale did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 13 shots on net to force 12 saves. The Knights were led by Marty O Connell, who scored the team's only goal. O Connell scored 7:07 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Alex LaPorte picked up the assist. The Falcons managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Robbinsdale Armstrong finished below its season average of 6.0 penalty minutes per game. The Falcons' offense rang up 41 shots on Irondale's net. Robbinsdale Armstrong was led by Shea Borer, who scored the team's only goal. Borer scored 16:27 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Robbinsdale Armstrong. Eric Udelhoven assisted on the tally. Esko Aukee recorded 40 saves for the Knights. Irondale incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors and had no power play opportunities.
