The Champlin Park Rebels pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Coon Rapids Cardinals on a clutch goal by Scott Lessar.

Champlin Park was paced by Lessar, who finished with one goal. Lessar scored 5:57 into overtime to make the score 3-2 Champlin Park. Bryce Plunkett picked up the assist.

The Rebels excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Coon Rapids was unable to stop Champlin Park from sending pucks towards the net, and the Rebels eventually piled up 47 shots on goal.

Champlin Park also got points from Plunkett, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Champlin Park also got a goal from Luke Dalman as well. In addition, Champlin Park received assists from Calvin Spencer, who had two.

The Cardinals' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Champlin Park power plays. Coon Rapids did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 14 shots on net to force 12 saves.

The Cardinals were helped by Samuel Naegele, who grabbed one goal. Naegele scored 15:09 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Cody Ancheta assisted on the tally. Lukas Ruff also scored for Coon Rapids. Other players who recorded assists for Coon Rapids were Jake Bruner, who had one.

Tyler Nelson rejected 12 shots on goal for Champlin Park. The Rebels incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Justin Ball recorded 44 saves for Coon Rapids. The Cardinals ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major.
