Huge game by Maki boosts Blaine over Anoka, 8-2

The Blaine Bengals' Tyler Maki had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 8-2 win over the Anoka Tornadoes.

Maki beat Robbie Goor with a shot 14:37 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Blaine. Joey Lau provided the assist. Maki dished an assist on Luke Notermann's goal that made the score 2-0 Blaine at 2:54 into the second period. He added another helper on Easton Brodzinski's goal that made the score 7-2 Blaine at 13:31 into the third period.

Blaine surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Bengals average 4.9 goals per contest. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Blaine's offense was clicking better than usual and put 39 shots on goal during the game, better than the 1.6 shot per game it averages.

Blaine also got points from Tanner Tufte, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Notermann, who also had two goals and one assist, and Brodzinski, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Blaine included Nic Simpson, who had one and Tyler Cline, who had two. In addition, Blaine received assists from Dallas Gerads, who had two, Jack Micek, who had three, and Jesse Norling and Jordan Turnquist, who contributed one a piece.

Anoka was led by Drew McLaughlin, who tallied one goal. McLaughlin scored 13:34 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Blaine. Riley Perry assisted on the tally. Anoka also got a goal from Ralph Hunt as well. More assists for Anoka came via Corben Seeger and Kristian Manthey, who each chipped in one.

Bailey Ketola rejected 13 shots on goal for the Bengals. Blaine incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Goor recorded 31 saves for the Tornadoes. Anoka incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
