The Osseo Orioles tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Coon Rapids Cardinals would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-1.

Coon Rapids made the score 3-0 on a goal by Tyler Wojciechowski at 15:17 in the second period, and Osseo got as close as 3-1 when Mason Hautala scored 16:00 into the third period.

The Cardinals' Justin Ball was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 28 saves and let only one puck past him. Ball certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 4.61 entering the contest.

Coon Rapids was helped by Garret Dey, who grabbed one goal. Dey scored 2:15 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Coon Rapids. Coon Rapids also got a goal from Joshua Lawrence as well. In addition, Coon Rapids received assists from Samuel Naegele, who had one.

Other players who recorded assists for Osseo were AJ Lyons, who had one.

The Cardinals ended with no penalties and went 0-for-0 on the power play. The Orioles' Alex Otto stopped 17 shots out of the 20 that he faced. Osseo finished the contest with no penalties and went 1-for-0 with the man advantage.
