Blaine downs Maple Grove, 5-2

Tyler Cline had one point to lead the Blaine Bengals to a 5-2 victory over the Maple Grove Crimson.

Blaine's offense was clicking better than usual and put 41 shots on goal during the game, better than the 2.1 shots per game it averages.

Blaine also got points from Jesse Norling, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Tyler Frischmmon also scored for Blaine. Other players who recorded assists for Blaine were Alex Copa, who had two and Zack Wylie, Nic Simpson, Joey Lau, Tyler Maki, and Ian Scheid, who contributed one a piece.

The 21 shots that Maple Grove put on net surpassed the Crimson's average of 3.8 shots per game this season.

Maple Grove was helped by Jake Abernathy, who registered one goal. Abernathy scored 3:40 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Blaine. Parker Dean provided the assist. Maple Grove also got a goal from Aric Kohns as well. More assists for Maple Grove came via Joe Franta and Joe Norenberg, who each chipped in one.

Bailey Ketola made 19 saves for the Bengals on 21 shots. Blaine ended with no penalties and went 0-for-0 on the power play. John Danielson recorded 36 saves for the Crimson. Maple Grove avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of zero power plays.
