Osseo holds on for 3-2 win against AndoverDick Vraa Arena Thu, Jan 17, 2013 The Osseo Orioles survived a determined comeback attempt by the Andover Huskies on the way to a 3-2 win. Osseo took a 3-1 lead during the second period, only to have Andover storm back on a Nick Maney goal 35 seconds into the third period to pull to one goal down. Mason Hautala had a great game for the Orioles, netting two goals. Hautala found the back of the net 3:40 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Osseo and again while 1:23 into the second to make the score 2-1 Osseo. Osseo found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere six shots against the Huskies' defense. Austin Ledin also scored for Osseo. Other players who recorded assists for Osseo were Tyler Stroh and Josh Stromberg, who each chipped in one. Andover barely challenged the opposing goaltender, firing only 11 shots on target to force nine saves. However, the Huskies fired more shots in the game than the 3.1 per game they average. Andover excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Huskies were helped by Christian Mohs, who registered one goal. Mohs scored on the power play 8:27 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Andover earned a power play opportunity when Chris Madsen was put in the box for checking from behind. Maney provided the assist. Andover also got points from Maney, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Andover came via Tyler Vold and Derek Olsen, who contributed one a piece. Alex Otto rejected nine shots on goal for the Orioles. Osseo incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Chase Perry made three saves for the Huskies on six shots. Andover incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
