Andover falls to Elk River in overtime, 6-5 (OT)

Jacob Jaremko gave the Elk River Elks a 6-5 (OT) victory over the Andover Huskies when he scored 5:11 into the extra period.

Although Elk River was up by as many as four goals in the third period, Andover kept the game interesting by staging a comeback that ultimately fell short. The Huskies got to within 5-4 on a goal by Nick Maney at 14:22 in the third period.

Jaremko had a great game for the Elks, netting two goals.

Elk River excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Elks surpassed their usual scoring output this season. This season, Elk River averages 3.5 goals per contest. By firing 42 shots on goal, the Elks exceeded the 4.5 shots they average per game this year.

Elk River additionally got points from Tim Sandford, who also registered one goal and one assist and Chase Springman, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Andrew Zerban also scored for Elk River. Other players who recorded assists for Elk River were Dylan Bouten, Cooper Bleyhl, and Ben Johnson, who each chipped in one and Blake Hillman and Austin Larson, who contributed two a piece.

Andover's offense rang up 41 shots on Elk River's net.

The Huskies were led by Calvin Rak, who tallied three goals. More assists for Andover came via Brady Barthold, who had two, Tyler Tomberlin, who had three, and Tyler Vold, Jared McComber, Brit Brothen, and Christian Mohs, who each chipped in one.

MacLean Berglove rejected 36 shots on goal for the Elks. Elk River incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors and had no power play opportunities. Chris Hamling recorded 36 saves for Andover.
