Maple Grove survives Andover comeback, wins 2-1

The Maple Grove Crimson survived a determined comeback attempt by the Andover Huskies on the way to a 2-1 win.

A goal by Nate Erickson put Maple Grove up 2-0 in the second period, but Andover pulled to within one on Brady Barthold's tally 8:20 into the third period.

The Crimson's Calvin McKenney was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 28 saves and let only one puck past him. McKenney certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.18 entering the contest.

Maple Grove put 28 shots on net during the contest, more than the 4.2 it averages per game.

David Corazalla also scored for Maple Grove. In addition, Maple Grove received assists from Sam Valerius, who had two and Josh Passolt and Joe Franta, who each chipped in one.

With 29 shots on target during the contest, the Huskies exceeded the 3.8 shots they average per game this year.

More assists for Andover came via Nick Maney and Brit Brothen, who contributed one a piece.

The Crimson incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Chase Perry rejected 26 shots on goal for Andover. The Huskies incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
