The Warroad Warriors and the International Falls Broncos skate to 3-3 (OT) tie

Warroad found itself down againt International Falls, but battled back to secure to a 3-3 (OT) tie.

The Warriors managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Warroad finished below its season average of 9.0 penalty minutes per game. The Broncos were unable to stop the Warriors from sending pucks towards the net, and Warroad eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.

The Warriors were led by Jared Bethune, who grabbed two goals. Bethune scored the first of his two goals at 14:49 into the second period to make the score 3-2 International Falls. Kyle Sylvester assisted on the tally. Bethune's next tally made the score 3-3 with 19:08 left in the third period. Luke Jaycox picked up the assist. Ben Smieja also scored for Warroad. In addition, Warroad received assists from Zach Johnston, who had one.

International Falls was helped by Jack Mellstrom, who finished with one goal. Mellstrom scored 6:12 into the first period to make the score 1-0 International Falls. Lucas Debenedet provided the assist. International Falls additionally got points from Debenedet, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. International Falls also got a goal from Kyler Schneider as well. More assists for International Falls came via Derek White, who had two and Evan Holenko, Jackson Vollom, and Erik Lassila, who contributed one a piece.

Justin King made 18 saves for Warroad on 21 shots. The Warriors registered zero goals on zero power play opportunities. The Broncos' Wyatt Ulrich stopped 36 shots out of the 39 that he faced. International Falls finished the contest with no penalties and went 1-for-1 with the man advantage.
