Huge game by Simpson boosts Blaine over Robbinsdale Armstrong, 6-1

Behind a great game by Nic Simpson, who had one goal and two assists, the Blaine Bengals defeated the Robbinsdale Armstrong Falcons, 6-1.

Simpson got on the board by slotting home a goal 7:15 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Blaine. Zack Wylie provided the assist. Simpson dished an assist on Brandon Noterman's goal that made the score 5-1 Blaine at 10:37 into the third period. He added another helper on Tyler Frischmmon's goal that made the score 6-1 Blaine at 14:17 into the third period.

Blaine managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Bengals finished below its season average of 8.0 penalty minutes per game. Blaine's offense was clicking better than usual and put 33 shots on goal during the game, better than the 5.0 shots per game it averages.

Blaine additionally got points from Tyler Cline, who also registered one goal and one assist, Frischmmon, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Dallas Gerads, who also had one goal and one assist. Blaine also got a goal from Easton Brodzinski as well. Other players who recorded assists for Blaine were Ian Scheid, who had three and Alex Copa and Joey Lau, who contributed one a piece.

Robbinsdale Armstrong's offense was handcuffed by the Bengals' defensive play, and the Falcons managed only 13 shots on goal during the game.

Robbinsdale Armstrong was led by Ben Hansen, who scored the team's only goal. Hansen scored 15:43 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Blaine. Blake Babineau picked up the assist.

Blaine's James Simmer stopped 12 shots out of the 13 that he faced. The Bengals registered zero goals on zero power play opportunities. Grant Mathiason made 27 saves for the Falcons on 33 shots. Robbinsdale Armstrong ended with no penalties and went 0-for-1 on the power play.
