Sinna lifts Centennial over Duluth East, 5-2

Behind a great game by Kenny Sinna, who had two goals, the Centennial Cougars defeated the Duluth East Greyhounds, 5-2.

Sinna found the back of the net 3:16 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Centennial and again while on the power play 5:53 into the second to make the score 2-0 Centennial.

Centennial's offense was clicking better than usual and put 22 shots on goal during the game, better than the 1.5 shot per game it averages.

Centennial additionally got points from Andrew Bertrand, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Hans Gorowsky, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Ryner Gorowsky, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. In addition, Centennial received assists from Wyatt Close and Jordan Pitlick, who contributed one a piece.

Duluth East was often in penalty trouble, totaling six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. The Greyhounds had been averaging 11.0 minutes in penalties per game. Duluth East's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. The Greyhounds average 1.9 goal allowed per game. Duluth East's defensemen also contributed in the offensive zone and ended up with 24 shots between them. The Greyhounds put 48 shots on net during the contest, more than the 5.8 they average per game.

Duluth East was helped by Jack Forbort, who racked up one goal and one assist. Forbort scored 7:57 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Centennial. Alex Toscano provided the assist. Ryan Lundgren also scored for Duluth East. More assists for Duluth East came via Phil Beaulieu, who had two.

The Cougars' Patrick Munson stopped 46 shots out of the 48 that he faced. Centennial incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Dylan Parker made 17 saves for the Greyhounds on 21 shots. Duluth East registered one goal on four power play opportunities. For the Greyhounds, Lundgren was ejected from the game.
