Tomberlin lifts Andover over Eden Prairie, 2-1

The Andover Huskies relied on the scoring touch of Tyler Tomberlin, who netted two goals, to beat the Eden Prairie Eagles, 2-1.

Tomberlin scored on the power play at 8:32 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Andover and again while on the power play 10:57 into the second to make the score 2-0 Andover.

Eden Prairie was stymied by Andover netminder Chase Perry, who stopped 41 shots during the victory. Perry managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.34 prior to the game.

The Huskies managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Andover ended up below its season average of 14.0 penalty minutes per game. The 30 shots that the Huskies put on net surpassed Andover's average of 8.3 shots per game this season. The Huskies took advantage of the Eagles' penalties, tallying two goals off of three power play opportunities.

In addition, Andover received assists from Tyler Vold, Calvin Rak, and Zach Sitarz, who contributed one a piece.

Eden Prairie could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Eagles put an average of 4.0 pucks into the net per game. Andover was unable to stop Eden Prairie from sending pucks towards the net, and the Eagles eventually piled up 42 shots on goal.

Eden Prairie was led by Mason Bergh, who scored the team's only goal. Bergh scored 14:34 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Andover. Luc Snuggerud provided the assist.

Jake Kielly made 28 saves for the Eagles on 30 shots. Eden Prairie incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
