Blaine downs Anoka, 5-2

The Blaine Bengals took home the 5-2 victory over the Anoka Tornadoes.

The 35 shots that Blaine put on net surpassed the Bengals' average of 2.3 shots per game this season.

Blaine was led by Tyler Cline, who registered one goal and two assists. Cline scored 3:55 into the third period to make the score 4-0 Blaine. Alex Copa assisted on the tally. Blaine also got points from Joey Lau, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Blaine included Dallas Gerads, who had one and Brandon Noterman, who had two. In addition, Blaine received assists from Frank Vescio, Jesse Norling, and Tyler Frischmmon, who contributed one a piece.

The defensemen of Anoka were also effective in the Bengals' zone, and came away with two goals.

The Tornadoes were led by Ryan Peterson, who racked up one goal. Peterson scored on the power play 11:23 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Blaine. Anoka had gained a power play chance when Nic Simpson was whistled for tripping. Connor Hudalla picked up the assist. Anoka also got a goal from Kristian Manthey as well. Other players who recorded assists for Anoka were Cody Pinewski, who had one.

Andrew Houle rejected 14 shots on goal for Blaine. The Bengals incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Robbie Goor recorded 30 saves for the Tornadoes. Anoka incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
