Anoka uses early goal to top Osseo, 2-0Dick Vraa Arena Sat, Dec 08, 2012 The Anoka Tornadoes beat the Osseo Orioles, 2-0, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout. Anoka took over the lead for good with a goal by Ryan Peterson at 1:04 in the first period. Kristian Manthey provided the assist.Robbie Goor frustrated Osseo's offense all game, and stopped 30 shots en route to a shutout. The solid play of Goor will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.35. The Tornadoes were led by Peterson, who had one goal. Anoka's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Osseo power plays. The Tornadoes was steadier on the defensive front than they have been for much of this season. Anoka allows 2.8 goals per game. The Tornadoes forced the Orioles goalie Alex Otto to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. Anoka's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Tornadoes finished with 14 penalty minutes. Anoka also got a goal from Adam Orn as well. Other players who recorded assists for Anoka were Chase West, who had one. Osseo could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game. Anoka registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. Alex Otto made 35 saves for the Orioles on 36 shots.
