Noterman leads Blaine over Osseo, 9-2

Brandon Noterman had one goal and four assists to lead the Blaine Bengals to a 9-2 victory over the Osseo Orioles.

Noterman got on the board by slotting home a power play goal 9:34 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Blaine. Blaine had taken the advantage when Osseo's Tyler Stroh got sent off for holding. Jack Micek assisted on the tally. Noterman dished an assist on Mac Nadeau's goal that made the score 1-0 Blaine at 5:53 into the first period. He then added assists on Nic Simpson's goal at 14:01 into the first, on Simpson's goal at 48 seconds into the second, and on Jesse Norling's goal at 4:32 into the third.

The Bengals excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Blaine forced the Orioles goalie Connor Dahlberg to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. The Bengals' goal total was higher than their season average. This season, Blaine averages 6.0 goals per contest.

Blaine additionally got points from Simpson, who also registered two goals and one assist. Others who scored for Blaine included Tyler Maki, who had one and Tyler Cline, who had two. In addition, Blaine received assists from Alex Copa, Joey Lau, Jordan Turnquist, and Tyler Frischmmon, who contributed one a piece and Dallas Gerads and Ian Scheid, who each chipped in two.

The Bengals' defense shut down Osseo's forwards for much of the game, and the Orioles got off only 14 shots during the contest. Penalties took their toll on Osseo, as its penalty kill unit let in three power play goals.

The Orioles were led by Drew Lofgren, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Lofgren scored 15:27 into the first period to make the score 4-1 Blaine. Chris Madsen also scored for Osseo.

James Simmer rejected 12 shots on goal for Blaine. The Bengals ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. Connor Dahlberg made 24 saves for Osseo on 33 shots. The Orioles ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major.
