Robbinsdale Armstrong falls to Andover after surprising comeback

Undaunted by a two-goal deficit, the Andover Huskies battled back to claim a 5-4 victory over the Robbinsdale Armstrong Falcons.

Andover never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Huskies fell behind 3-1 after a goal by Robbinsdale Armstrong's Cole Goergen at 12:12 in the first period. Andover tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Byron Gunderson at 6:57 in the third period. The Huskies got the game winner at 8:26 in the third period on a goal by Gunderson.

Nick Maney had two goals to lead Andover to victory.

The Huskies capitalized on the Falcons' penalties, netting two goals while skating with a man advantage. Andover's offense was clicking better than usual and put 38 shots on goal during the game, better than the 4.3 shots per game it averages.

Andover also got points from Brady Barthold, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Brit Brothen also scored for Andover. Other players who recorded assists for Andover were Tyler Tomberlin, who had one and Christian Mohs, who had four.

Robbinsdale Armstrong's offense rang up 32 shots on the Huskies' net.

The Falcons were helped by Cory Gilbert, who tallied one goal. Gilbert scored 6:33 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Robbinsdale Armstrong. Brady Anderson assisted on the tally. Robbinsdale Armstrong additionally got points from Goergen, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Kristian Evans, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Robbinsdale Armstrong also got a goal from Nick Malmgren as well. In addition, Robbinsdale Armstrong received assists from Shea Borer, who had two.

Chase Perry made 28 saves for Andover on 32 shots. The Huskies incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Grant Mathiason recorded 33 saves for Robbinsdale Armstrong. The Falcons incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
