Jaremko nets hat trick, leads Elk River to 8-2 win over Coon Rapids

Jacob Jaremko lifted the Elk River Elks to an 8-2 victory with a hat trick against the Coon Rapids Cardinals.

Jaremko got on the scoresheet 7:19 into the first period. He then added goals at 10:14 into the first and at 1:19 into the third.

Elk River led 5-0 after the opening frame the first period and maintained a healthy margin after.

Coon Rapids was unable to stop the Elks from sending pucks towards the net, and Elk River eventually piled up 45 shots on goal.

Elk River also got points from Tim Sandford, who also finished with two goals and two assists and Chase Springman, who also tallied two goals and four assists to lead the team in points. Elk River also got a goal from Reggie Lutz as well. More assists for Elk River came via Jack Geissler, Wyatt Ege, Colton Budreau, and Ben Johnson, who each chipped in one.

The Cardinals found themselves stymied offensively, and got off a mere seven shots against the Elks' defense.

Cameron Korlath recorded five saves for Elk River. The Elks incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Coon Rapids' Justin Ball stopped 37 shots out of the 45 that he faced. The Cardinals totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
