Wayzata downs Andover, 2-1

Brian Machut grabbed one point to lead the Wayzata Trojans to a 2-1 victory over the Andover Huskies.

Wayzata stifled Andover's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The 19 shots that the Trojans put on net surpassed Wayzata's average of 4.8 shots per game this season.

Wayzata also got a goal from Matthew Freytag as well. Other players who recorded assists for Wayzata were Akash Batra and Nate Dingman, who contributed one a piece.

The Huskies barely challenged the opposing goalie, racking up only 14 shots on target to force 13 saves. Team.mascot's final shot tally was well below the team's average of 24.0 pucks on net per game. Andover put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Trojans to score on any of their four power plays.

The Huskies were led by Reece Tulbane, who scored the team's only goal. Tulbane scored 7:58 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Andover. J.P. Gibbs provided the assist.

Aaron Dingman recorded 13 saves for Wayzata. The Trojans incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Chase Perry rejected 17 shots on goal for Andover. The Huskies incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
