Wayzata downs Maple Grove, 4-1

Chad Olson tallied two points to lead the Wayzata Trojans to a 4-1 victory over the Maple Grove Crimson.

Wayzata stifled Maple Grove's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Wayzata also got points from Matthew Freytag, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Wayzata also got a goal from Maxwell Zimmer as well. Other players who recorded assists for Wayzata were Brian Machut, who had two and Alec Hemenway and Kyle Olson, who each chipped in one.

The Crimson could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 19 minutes in penalties during the game.

Maple Grove was led by Joe Norenberg, who scored the team's only goal. Norenberg scored 3:34 into the first period to make the score 1-1. David Brumm picked up the assist.

Aaron Dingman rejected 16 shots on goal for the Trojans. Wayzata totaled 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors and two majors and went 2-for-6 on the power play. John Danielson recorded 22 saves for the Crimson. Maple Grove registered zero goals on three power play opportunities.
