Kivihalme leads Burnsville over Lakeville South, 7-0

Teemu Kivihalme was all over the ice for the Burnsville Blaze, as he tallied two goals and five assists in Burnsville's 7-0 win over the Lakeville South Cougars.

Kivihalme scored at 8:15 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Burnsville and again while on the power play 10:04 into the second to make the score 4-0 Burnsville.

The Blaze's defensive play was more effective than usual against Lakeville South. Burnsville allows 2.6 goals per game. The Blaze bested their season scoring average. This season, Burnsville averages 3.9 goals per contest. The Blaze was effective with a man advantage, and put in three goals while on the power play. By firing 33 shots on goal, Burnsville exceeded the 0.7 shots it averages per game this year.

Burnsville also got points from Brock Boesser, who also registered two goals and two assists, Cole Borchardt, who also tallied two goals and one assist, and Tyler Sheehy, who also racked up one goal and three assists. In addition, Burnsville received assists from Sam Dockry and Chris Mallon, who each chipped in one.

The Cougars could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Lakeville South averages 3.0 goals per game. The Cougars put 17 shots on net during the contest, more than the 0.7 they average per game.

Chris Mallon made 17 saves for the Blaze on 17 shots. Burnsville incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Tyler Schumacher rejected 26 shots on goal for Lakeville South. The Cougars totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
