The Lakeville South Cougars relied on the scoring touch of Nick Swaney, who netted two goals, to beat the Apple Valley Eagles, 6-2.

Swaney scored at 7:50 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Lakeville South and again while 43 seconds into the second to make the score 3-1 Lakeville South.

Lakeville South managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Cougars finished below its season average of 4.0 penalty minutes per game. Lakeville South surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Cougars average 3.1 goals per contest. Lakeville South's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. The Cougars' offense was clicking better than usual and put 36 shots on goal during the game, better than the 0.8 shots per game they average.

Apple Valley was helped by Dylan Reynolds, who grabbed one goal. Reynolds scored 8:20 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Lakeville South. Mason Preston assisted on the tally.
