The Eastview Lightning and the Lakeville North Panthers skate to 2-2 (OT) tie

Eastview and Lakeville North could not settle their match and fought to a 2-2 tie.

The Lightning put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Panthers to score on any of their three power plays. Eastview forced Lakeville North goalie Will Dupont to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots. The Lightning's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Eastview finished with 14 penalty minutes.

The Lightning were helped by Kevin Wobschall, who had one goal. Wobschall scored 11:30 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Eastview. Brett Schweiger provided the assist. Ryan McNamara also scored for Eastview. Other players who recorded assists for Eastview were Nick Abbott, Mitch Beattie, and Thomas Hutsell, who contributed one a piece.

The the Panthers penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled eight minors and one major for 31 minutes in penalty time. Lakeville North surpassed its season average of 13.0 penalty minutes per game. The Panthers' offense rang up 32 shots on Eastview's net.

Lakeville North was helped by Jack McNeely, who racked up one goal. McNeely scored 4:17 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Lakeville North. Tristan Hazlett picked up the assist. Lakeville North also got a goal from Jack Poehling as well. In addition, Lakeville North received assists from Jack Sadek, who had one.

Zachary Driscoll made 30 saves for the Lightning on 32 shots. Eastview registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. Dupont rejected 44 shots on goal for the Panthers.
