Behind a great game by Cole Borchardt, who had two goals and five assists, the Burnsville Blaze defeated the Apple Valley Eagles, 11-1.

Borchardt scored at 7:37 into the second period to make the score 6-1 Burnsville and again while 14:04 into the second to make the score 9-1 Burnsville.

Burnsville bested its season scoring average. The Blaze have scored at the pace of 4.9 goals per game during the current campaign. Burnsville's offense was clicking better than usual and put 45 shots on goal during the game, better than the 2.4 shots per game it averages.

Burnsville also got points from Brock Boesser, who also registered three goals and two assists, Anthony Rikberg, who also grabbed two goals and one assist, Ian Taylor, who also finished with two goals and one assist, and Nick DiGregorio, who also had one goal and one assist. Teemu Kivihalme also scored for Burnsville. More assists for Burnsville came via Dan Ames, Dylan Weigel, and Tyler Sheehy, who each chipped in two.

Apple Valley found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere 13 shots against the Blaze's defense.

The Eagles were led by Logan Kohorst, who scored the team's only goal. Kohorst scored on the power play 4:36 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Apple Valley. Apple Valley had gained a power play chance when Weigel was whistled for cross checking. Christian Smith assisted on the tally.

Nic Anderson made 12 saves for Burnsville on 13 shots. The Blaze incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Shane Van Dusartz recorded 34 saves for the Eagles. Apple Valley totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play.
