Eagan holds on for 4-2 win against Burnsville

The Burnsville Blaze tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Eagan Wildcats held on for a 4-2 victory.

A goal by Cullen Willox put Eagan up 4-1 in the third period, but Burnsville pulled to within two on Tyler Sheehy's tally 12:01 into the third period.

Willox had a great game for the Wildcats, netting two goals.

Eagan forced the Blaze goalie Chris Mallon to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Eagan additionally got points from Will Peterson, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Eagan also got a goal from Jesse Gabrielle as well. In addition, Eagan received assists from Zach Glienke, who had three and Tommy Muck and Jack Jenson, who each chipped in one.

With 35 shots on target during the contest, Burnsville exceeded the 2.7 shots it averages per game this year.

Joe Berg also scored for Burnsville. Other players who recorded assists for Burnsville were Dan Ames, Brock Boesser, and Cole Borchardt, who contributed one a piece.

Andrew Lindgren rejected 33 shots on goal for the Wildcats. Eagan incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Blaze's Mallon stopped 30 shots out of the 34 that he faced. Burnsville incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
