Burnsville beats Rosemount 7-4 as Sheehy gets hat trick

The Rosemount Irish could not stop the Burnsville Blaze's Tyler Sheehy, who tallied a hat trick in a 7-4 win.

Sheehy notched his first tally 2:57 into the second period. He then added goals at 10:38 into the second and at 13:02 into the second.

Burnsville's goal total was higher than its season average. The Blaze average 4.6 goals per game. Burnsville was effective with a man advantage, and put in three goals while on the power play. By firing 44 shots on goal, the Blaze exceeded the 4.0 shots they average per game this year.

Burnsville additionally got points from Brock Boesser, who also racked up one goal and two assists and Teemu Kivihalme, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Anthony Rikberg also scored for Burnsville. More assists for Burnsville came via Adam Schweitzer, Jack Ahcan, and Sam Dockry, who each chipped in one and Mason Schneider and Cole Borchardt, who contributed two a piece.

Rosemount was led by Evan Weiand, who had two goals and one assist. Weiand scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 7:26 into the second period to make the score 3-3. The Irish had gotten the advantage when Burnsville's Alec Kersten was sent off for slashing. Anthony Winters assisted on the tally. Weiand's next tally on the power play made the score 4-4 with 7:34 left in the second period. Zach Bichler provided the assist. Rosemount also got points from Tom Linder, who also registered one goal and one assist and Winters, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, Rosemount received assists from Luke Meade, who had two.

Nic Anderson made 23 saves for the Blaze on 27 shots. Burnsville incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Rosemount's Tom Fraune stopped 37 shots out of the 44 that he faced. The Irish incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
