Hazlett leads Lakeville North, offense over Apple Valley, 5-2

Tristan Hazlett quarterbacked the Lakeville North Panthers' offense to perfection and bagged four in Lakeville North's 5-2 win over the Apple Valley Eagles.

The Panthers kept Apple Valley's goalie busy throughout the game, and Shane Van Dusartz made 34 saves on 39 shots. Lakeville North was effective with a man advantage, and put in three goals while on the power play. The defensemen of the Panthers were also effective in the Eagles' zone, and came away with three goals.

Lakeville North also got points from Connor Hyden, who also had one goal and one assist and Angelo Altavilla, who also registered one goal and one assist. Lakeville North also got a goal from Jack Diercks as well. In addition, Lakeville North received assists from Ian Klotz and Zach Neameyer, who each chipped in one.

Apple Valley was helped by Christian Smith, who finished with one goal. Smith scored on the power play 12:21 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Lakeville North. A slashing penalty on Erik Rutt had put the Eagles on the power play. Mason Preston picked up the assist. Tyler Heuer also scored for Apple Valley. Other players who recorded assists for Apple Valley were Jacob Smith, who had two.

Will Dupont rejected 16 shots on goal for Lakeville North. The Panthers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Apple Valley totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 2-for-4 on the power play.
