Hill-Murray downs Burnsville, 2-1

Jacob Olson finished with one point to lead the Hill-Murray Pioneers to a 2-1 victory over the Burnsville Blaze.

Hill-Murray forced Burnsville goalie Chris Mallon to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

Hill-Murray additionally got points from Mitch Slattery, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Hill-Murray were Dustin Krueger and Ryan Black, who each chipped in one.

The Blaze managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Burnsville ended up below its season average of 6.0 penalty minutes per game.

The Blaze were led by Tyler Sheehy, who scored the team's only goal. Sheehy scored on the power play 2:41 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Burnsville. Ian Taylor provided the assist.

John Dugas rejected 16 shots on goal for the Pioneers. Hill-Murray totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major and went 1-for-1 on the power play. The Pioneers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Sam Becker was ejected from the game. Mallon recorded 37 saves for Burnsville. The Blaze registered one goal on two power play opportunities.
