Huneke leads Hastings over Woodbury, 9-3

Behind a great game by Mark Huneke, who had four goals and two assists, the Hastings Raiders defeated the Woodbury Royals, 9-3.

Huneke's first goal came 13:53 into the first period. He then added goals at 8:05 into the second, at 5:44 into the third, and at 9:46 into the third.

Hastings kept Woodbury's goalie busy throughout the game, and Evan Broadbent made 38 saves on 47 shots. The Raiders' goal total was higher than their season average. Hastings averages 3.8 goals per game.

Hastings also got points from Zach Mellick, who also racked up one goal and five assists to lead the team in points, Matt Flynn, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Andrew Bussey, who also registered one goal and four assists. Hastings also got a goal from Jacob Cooper as well. Other players who recorded assists for Hastings were Jake Caneff, Adam Husting, Brandon Boogreen, and Andy Neuman, who each chipped in one.

The Royals were helped by Hayden Shaw, who had one goal. Shaw scored 11:51 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Hastings. Ryan Winter provided the assist. Woodbury additionally got points from Winter, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Evan Roepke also scored for Woodbury. More assists for Woodbury came via Sasha Choporov, Seth Winger, Josh Condon, and Jordan Graham, who contributed one a piece.

Michael Barr rejected 17 shots on goal for the Raiders. Hastings incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Woodbury incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
