East Ridge rolls over Mounds View, 4-1

The East Ridge Raptors were firing on all cylinders against the Mounds View Mustangs, and when the final buzzer sounded Raptors emerged with a 4-1 win.

Zach Wahl had a great game for East Ridge, netting two goals. Wahl scored at 4:57 into the first period to make the score 2-0 East Ridge and again while 5:54 into the third to make the score 4-1 East Ridge.

Mounds View was stymied by the Raptors netminder Tyler Guck, who stopped 35 shots during the victory. Guck managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.5 prior to the game.

East Ridge stifled the Mustangs' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Raptors forced Mounds View goalie Brandon Smith to work between the pipes, taking 48 shots.

East Ridge also got a goal from Derek Hammer as well. More assists for East Ridge came via Tyler Hart, who had one and Robert Nickoloff, Ian Penvose, and Nicholas Leach, who contributed two a piece.

The Mustangs could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Mounds View puts an average of 4.0 pucks into the net per game. East Ridge was unable to stop the Mustangs from sending pucks towards the net, and Mounds View eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

The Mustangs were led by Tucker Gran, who scored the team's only goal. Gran scored 13:31 into the first period to make the score 3-1 East Ridge. Matt Hunt assisted on the tally.

The Raptors totaled 36 minutes in penalty time with three minors and two majors and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Smith rejected 44 shots on goal for Mounds View. The Mustangs incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
