Hernon's hat trick boosts Bloomington Jefferson over Apple Valley, 12-0

The Apple Valley Eagles could not stop the Bloomington Jefferson Jaguars' Collin Hernon, who tallied a hat trick in a 12-0 win.

Hernon's first goal came zero seconds into the first period. He then added goals at 7:43 into the first and at 15:11 into the first.

Bloomington Jefferson gained an early advantage, leading 7-0 by the end of the first period.

The Jaguars featured an improved defense during the game. Bloomington Jefferson averages 2.6 goals allowed per game. The Jaguars forced Apple Valley goalie Shane Van Dusartz to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. Bloomington Jefferson found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Jaguars have scored at the pace of 4.2 goals per game during the current campaign. Bloomington Jefferson took advantage of the Eagles' penalties, tallying three goals off of five power play opportunities.

Bloomington Jefferson also got points from Charlie Straus, who also registered one goal and one assist, Charlie Bach, who also had one goal and one assist, Jono Lindquist, who also racked up three goals and one assist, and Tyler Johnson, who also registered two goals and one assist. Tony Roisum also scored for Bloomington Jefferson. More assists for Bloomington Jefferson came via Jack Graves, who had one, Jack Weiss, who had three, and AJ Robbel, Ryan Freese, Ben Dagget, and Johnny Panvica, who each chipped in two.

Grant Martens recorded 23 saves for the Jaguars. Bloomington Jefferson incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Apple Valley's Van Dusartz stopped 22 shots out of the 34 that he faced. The Eagles totaled 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
