Forest Lake downs Woodbury, 5-1Forest Lake High School Sat, Feb 02, 2013 Trevor Thompson finished with one point to lead the Forest Lake Rangers to a 5-1 victory over the Woodbury Royals. Forest Lake's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Woodbury power plays. The Rangers forced Woodbury goalie Zach Gartner to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. Forest Lake additionally got points from Paul Stehr, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Forest Lake also got a goal from Ryan Herbert as well. In addition, Forest Lake received assists from Brett Gravelle, Kyle Parker, and Jack Schmidt, who each chipped in one. The Royals were led by Ford Pendleton, who scored the team's only goal. Pendleton scored 13:13 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Forest Lake. Jordan Graham picked up the assist. Collin Peterson made 17 saves for Forest Lake on 18 shots. The Rangers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Gartner recorded 35 saves for Woodbury. The Royals incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
