Bittner's goals lift Crookston to 7-3 victory over Hastings

Ryan Bittner was all over the ice for the Crookston Pirates, as he tallied two goals in Crookston's 7-3 win over the Hastings Raiders.

Bittner's tallies came at 16:41 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Crookston and 21 seconds into the third to make the score 4-2 Crookston.

The Pirates kept Hastings' goalie busy throughout the game, and Matt Radke made 24 saves on 31 shots. Crookston bested its season scoring average. This season, the Pirates average 4.2 goals per contest. Crookston got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Crookston also got points from Ethan Mercil, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Crookston also got a goal from Kyle Proulx as well. In addition, Crookston received assists from Brady Heppner, who had two and Cameron Leas and Ryan Edevold, who contributed one a piece.

The Raiders did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 14 shots on net to force 11 saves.

Hastings was helped by Mikey Junker, who registered one goal. Junker scored 5:34 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Crookston. Colin Shoen picked up the assist. Hastings additionally got points from Mark Huneke, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Andrew Bussey, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Hastings were Matt Koch, who had one and Zach Mellick, who had two.

The Pirates' Parker Epema stopped 11 shots out of the 14 that he faced. Crookston totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and had no power play opportunities. The Raiders finished the contest with no penalties and went 1-for-3 with the man advantage.
